Prayer of St. Francis
I wanted to include the Prayer of Saint Francis in my website because it is such a guiding force in my life. I remember in high school this was my absolute favorite hymn and I still love singing it. Whenever I do any reading or healing work for someone, this is my prayer.
This prayer is so honest, pure and selfless that it never ceases to touch my heart. I feel it defines perfectly my life purpose - to be a channel of God's love, light and peace and to bring joy to others by simply allowing God and the angels to use me as a channel to pass on any messages that they, both people and animals, need to hear for their perfect healing.
It is a beautiful prayer because it shows that one aspires to be a good person, not because you want to show people how self-sacrificing you are, ("oh look how much I give to the church", "do you see how much I do for others"), but because you know, that in truly wanting to be no more than a channel of love; you need no thanks or congratualtions. The ripple effect of your actions will be so rewarding on a soul level that the joy you get from that feeling is all you need. Your life, through just being a good person, is so perfect and guided that there is no reason or need to be based in your ego - I feel that this prayer so perfect in silencing the ego and empowering your higher self.
I also feel that you don't have to be of a specific religion to enjoy this prayer. No matter what you believe in, praying to a higher, positive, loving vibration/power/source can surely never be a bad thing.
My wonderful mom, Irma, has always taught me that if your intentions are honourable then things will always work out for the best and I feel that this prayer emphasises that too.
Enjoy!

Prayer of Saint Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek,
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
